Helping you access services and support across Tower Hamlets
Whatever’s affecting your mental health – from housing troubles to bereavement to issues with your NHS care – our team of Navigators can find you the support you need. They’ll listen, advise, and help you access the right service from a huge range across the borough and beyond.
If your problem is complex, you can get one-to-one support, face to face, with someone who understands what you’re going through. Find out more about one-to-one support.
Who can use the service?
Anyone over 18 and living in Tower Hamlets.
What problems does it cover?
We’ll do our best to find resources for any issues affecting your mental health. It might be:
- Loneliness
- Bereavement
- Financial struggles
- Housing problems
- Employment issues
- Trouble with your GP or mental health team
- Immigration issues
For example, if your mental health is suffering because of money problems, we can make an appointment with our benefits advisor to make sure you’re getting everything you’re eligible for, and a debt advice service to help you make a plan. We can also refer you to a food bank and other services to support you while you wait.
As well as practical support, we can help you access groups and activities that promote mental health and wellbeing.
How long is the wait?
You’ll have your first phone call with a Navigator within 3 working days of getting in touch. They can talk you through your difficulties and give basic advice, before referring you on to the service that would be best for you.
If your issue has a deadline – for example, you’re struggling with anxiety over a bill or benefits application – please call us as soon as possible. We will do our very best to meet your deadline.
Is it therapy?
We aren’t therapists, but we can help you access therapy services from the NHS, charities, and other services.
Where does it happen?
We can help you over the phone, but you can also meet with a navigator face-to-face at Open House, 13 Whitethorn St, E3 4DA.
