Who can come to the Together Café?

This service is for you if:

  • you live in Newham
  • You are registered with a GP in Newham
  • you’re over 18
  • you’re in a mental health crisis, or at risk of one

You don’t need to have a mental health diagnosis.

What do we mean by crisis?

A mental health crisis means different things to different people. It might be:

  • you’re struggling with thoughts of self-harm or suicide
  • you feel like your mental health is going downhill fast
  • you’re in an episode where you experience or believe things others do not.
Is this a counselling service?

No, our staff are not counsellors. They’re trained to ease immediate distress, help you manage difficult emotions, and direct you to longer term support.

Does the Together Café serve food?

No, we’re not that kind of café. But we’ll always offer you a nice cup of tea while you talk about what’s on your mind.

Are there any groups and activities?

We have a small selection of groups and activities we can invite you to if peer support would be helpful to you.
